No olvidemos a quienes desde la infancia cargan el pesado yugo de la discriminación. Su vida al ras de la tierra, pasa desapercibida por nuestra vista.

STATEMENT | Front with the contempt of the top, the word from below sets us free.

To the peoples of the world:
We, free media, alternative ones, independent ones, autonomous ones or however they are called, have been informing for a long time ago from and within the fights, getting organized and managing our communicative needs ourselves, questioning mass media manipulation in front of the incidents and the news, demystifying the idea of reporters are objectives.

We don’t feel ourselves as owners of the absolute true, but we do communicate honestly from our recognized subjectivities with freedom ideals.  Better things are still coming, and we have to go on fighting to achieve them; this is why we have taken up a stance next to the ones who resist and build daily new ways of relationships placed before destruction and death logic.
We break the information siege.  We defend freedom of expression creating and holding media or communication process that do not belong and serve the ones who are subdueding us.
Our country is absorbed in one of the biggest political crisis of the last years.  2014 September 26th and 27th terrible incidents in Iguala, Guerrero, have demonstrated the huge collusion between organized crime and Mexican State.  There is not a distinction between mafia and government, neither police, narco and paramilitary groups.  All of them, with many of the payment media, behave in the same way, protecting our own interests.
Hardly hours after the police murdered six people and transferred 43 students in their cars, without having to date certainty about his whereabouts, some “mass media” “informed”  about a supposed quarrel between “normalistas” and policemen.  Ever since, mass media management about this crisis has looked for their own profit and the state one by blaming and forgiving all over.
The common denominator has not been informing the population about what is happening, nor much less get to the bottom of the facts to unmask  corruption networks of the ones above -because press corporations are in this network- but winning clicks and rating for their media and helping government to manage information, without respecting the victims’ pain and peoples intelligence.  There are media which have not got carried only by this judgment, but especially reporters -press workers, social networks users and ordinary people, who we are addressing these words.
Ayoztinapa students’ dignity and their mates, family and friends’ power and strength are growing every day and are waking up more rages.  Rages accumulated because of the endless amount of injustices suffered and still suffered lived in this country along so many years.
In Mexico and in many countries, thousands of people have protested in order to demand justice for the 43 disappeared students, but the memorial of their affront is so big that demonstrations are showing the daily violence lived in this country, thousands of disappearances and assassinations, thousands of female homicides in a police and militarized state.
This is the violence many media expect to conceal.  Like if memory and dignity had an expiration date, like if pain and suffering could be cast into oblivion.
We invite you to walk together, to add our voices and views in order to build a better present, to assemble communication fromthe bottom up; to look up and participate in free medias, alternatives ones, independent ones, autonomous ones or however they are called.
Take the media, sow them free.
México, 2014
