Ayutla de los Libres, Guerrero, January 27, 2011.- Today, at the end of the extended deadline of 144 hours, the Judge of the Criminal Court of First Instance of the Judicial District of Allende, in Ayutla de los Libres Guerrero, issued an imprisonment warrant against Maximino García Catarino, Na Savi human rights defender, who, consequently, will face deprived of his liberty criminal proceedings accused of a crime he did not commit. Maximino Garcia Catarino is an advocate for the rights of the Na Savi people from, from the Juquila community, member for many years of the Organisation for the Future of the Mixteco People (OFPM), which dedicates to look for a better life for the indigenous communities of Ayutla and denounces human rights violations.
